Food and Drink at The Cornwall

Whether it’s straight from the boats or freshly picked from the fields, there’s so much wonderful food right on our doorstep.

The Cornish attitude to food is simple: enjoy it. There’s nothing like a Cornish cream tea to sweeten an afternoon, or a plate of fish and chips after a long day on the beach. Our chefs choose the best, seasonal ingredients from our local suppliers, and prepare them perfectly.

At The Cornwall, you can pick a place to eat that suits your mood. Large bowl of steaming St Austell Bay mussels? Book a table in The Restaurant. Pizza to share with the kids? Head for our laid-back Bar. Scones with a generous dollop of jam and Rodda’s? The Tea Room, naturally.

The Tea Room

Best Afternoon Tea in Cornwall

What could be a more perfect British tradition? Afternoon tea served in a charming Laura Ashley-decorated setting, with views across the parkland.

The delicate chink of tea spoons on china and the hum of conversation. Our tea room is a quietly elegant place to relax in the afternoon.

Treat yourself to a cream tea or finger sandwiches in this calmly charming setting, served on traditional tiered cake plates. This most British of traditions naturally has a Cornish twist, including scones with Rodda’s clotted cream, and tea from Cornish Tea & Coffee.

If you don’t have a sweet tooth, there are plenty of savoury options, and we also have delicious gluten-free and vegan treats (please let us know in advance).

Fancy a break from tradition? Swap the teapot for an ice bucket: prosecco actually goes perfectly with jam and cream…

The Bar

Sociable bar is a great place for lunch

Come along to the Bar at The Cornwall, where you can either curl up in an armchair with a cuppa and a book, or tuck into crispy, homemade pizzas with your friends. We serve a selection of light snacks and hearty pick-me-ups, all made with the same fabulous Cornish ingredients as our restaurant menu.

The sociable bar is a great place for lunch with the kids, and your four-footed family member is also welcome to join you (and is guaranteed to be made a fuss of, as we love dogs here at The Cornwall). Call in for a sundowner before dinner or a sneaky snifter afterwards.

Sally, Tripadvisor

Lovely hotel and spa, we for 3 days to visit Eden project as quite near. Staff friendly and helpful, even before we arrived. Food was good, nice bar. Unfortunately didn’t get the weather for a good wander in the surrounding area or sit out on the lovely balcony. Would definitely repeat.

Red M, Tripadvisor

Beautiful Hotel and Grounds, location is perfect within minutes drive to Charlestown Harbour. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The Restaurant has a very good selection and every meal was amazing. We stayed for 5 nights, will return in the very near future.
