Come and relax in the tranquil Cornish countryside. Whether you’re after a romantic break, a luxurious holiday or a relaxing spa getaway, The Cornwall Hotel & Spa is your perfect retreat.
What sets The Cornwall apart from other hotels? We believe (and going by the feedback, so do our guests) it’s because we’re always thinking about our guests’ comfort and ease. Everything here is designed to make sure you can switch off and relax.
From the moment you step into the comfortable elegance of our reception, we hope you feel welcome. Here’s a closer look at what you’ll enjoy during your stay at The Cornwall.
What sort of accommodation would you prefer? If your taste runs to Victorian opulence, we’d recommend a guest room or suit in the older part of the hotel, the former White House. Each room has been decorated individually to complement the age and elegance of the building: think rich palettes, sumptuous fabrics and generous drapes. You won’t need to go without your contemporary comforts however, with modern bathrooms and free wifi in all rooms.
Prefer cool, calm interior decor? Choose a room in our Woodland wing, with cool palettes and glass patio doors overlooking the estate. The Superior rooms have open-plan layouts with the bath in the main room: perfect for indulging in a long soak while admiring the view.
If you want more space, book a holiday in one of our Woodland Lodges. Our Scandi-inspired lodges are modern and spacious, and have everything your family needs for a relaxing Cornish holiday (even down to the outside space for wetsuits). You can enjoy the best of both worlds in our self-catering lodges: plenty of room, privacy, and access to all The Cornwall’s facilities.
Wake up refreshed from your excellent night’s sleep, tuck into your full Cornish breakfast, then walk through the garden to our luxurious spa and leisure suite. As soon as you walk into the spa and breathe in the gentle scent of aromatherapy products, you feel your shoulders start to drop. Your day of relaxation and self-care has begun.
You can choose from a menu of spa treatments, from our signature massages to refreshing facials. If you’re not sure what you’d like, have a chat with one of our helpful practitioners to discuss what would suit you. We work with Caudalie products, a luxurious French skincare brand that uses natural ingredients, and will leave you feeling fabulous.
If your idea of relaxing is a refreshing swim, try the indoor infinity pool at The Cornwall. There’s also a state-of-the-art gym in our recently converted stable block, and you can book onto one of our fitness classes. Reward yourself afterwards with a cool drink in the old walled garden.
And now for one of the best things about a break at The Cornwall - our wonderful food. There’s a choice of places to eat at the hotel: the restaurant, the tea room and the bar. Our Chef selects seasonal Cornish ingredients, such as freshly landed fish and vegetables that are grown in farms that are right on our doorstep.
Get your day off to the best start with a hearty breakfast in the restaurant, and if you’re not heading out for the day, come back for a light lunch. In the afternoon, treat yourself to a cream tea in our elegant tea room, just making sure you have room for some classic Cornish pub grub in the evening. For a special occasion, book a table in the restaurant, followed by a fireside nightcap in our cosy bar.
The Cornwall Hotel & Spa is in the loveliest location. We’re a short walk or drive from the coast, close to Porthpean and Pentewan beaches, with picturesque Mevagissey just along the coast path. Inland, you’re near world-famous attractions the Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Our local town St Austell is also home to Cornwall’s best-loved brewery, Wheal Martyn Clay Works Museum and a network of walking and cycle paths.
We’re not far from the A30, which means that most of Cornwall is within easy reach. There’s Tate St Ives, St Michael’s Mount and the National Maritime Museum to explore. Walk on Bodmin Moor or learn to surf in Bude. There’s also a mainline railway station in St Austell, which is an easy way to get to Penzance, Truro or Plymouth.
And then, there’s the estate itself. You don’t have to set foot from The Cornwall during your luxury retreat if you don’t want to. The hotel and spa are set in 43 acres of parkland, with sweeping views and woodland pathways. We love it here.
This is what makes a good holiday a truly special one: those extra details that help you feel comfortable and relaxed. From fine-quality bed linen to the delicious biscuits in your room, we’re always trying to think of touches that will make your stay even better.
Children (and four-pawed family members) are made very welcome at The Cornwall, and our friendly team is always here to help. We want parents (including pet parents) to relax and enjoy their stay, and we know that this is only possible when the whole family’s needs are met. From kids’ sessions in the pool to a fabulous children’s menu to trails through the grounds, there’s a lot for the kids to enjoy at The Cornwall.
If you’re looking for a luxury retreat for a romantic trip away, take a look at our special breaks, which can include gourmet dining and spa treatments, as well as lovely little details like bubbly and flowers in your room.
Escape the real world for a few days, and treat yourself to a stay at The Cornwall Hotel & Spa. From cosy fireside seats at the bar to windswept walks across our private parkland, we’re the perfect place for an off-season break. Explore our comfortable hotel and self-catering accommodation, then book a relaxing spa getaway.
